So far I've focused exclusively on the single player experience, and I've come away really pleased. I like not having to guess and then have my character say something out of left field. You say virtually exactly what the dialogue options say rather than some loose interpretation. You can ask him questions or respond to him using a simple dialogue system on the D-Pad. Speaking of your Titan, his name is BT and you form a sort of friendship throughout the campaign. It's a lot of fun to try out different loadouts, since some work better in certain scenarios and you can only really know by trial-and-error. As you progress you unlock various Titan configurations-various primary and secondary weapons, special powers, and other abilities. This is all pilot combat, but you fight in your Titan as well. Throughout the level you have to use these moving pieces to platform, running across a slab before it's tipped on its side, then jumping to the next sideways slab and wall-running across it before it gets carried away. As the level progresses, you see the slabs slowly morph into houses and other structures, replete with furnishings. Huge robotic arms grab and move massive slabs that turn out to be part of a bunch of prefabricated buildings. There's one level that takes place in a giant manufacturing facility. The platforming always feels fresh thanks to smart level design. There are major sections of virtually every mission devoted to platforming.

Wall-running is a big part of this, but it's not just short sprints from one side of a gorge to another. They aren't simply window-dressing, and they're every bit as natural in a level as they are in a multiplayer map. Not only are the core shooting mechanics tight and responsive, the campaign makes excellent use of the franchise's trademark movement controls.
